Excerpts from the video-poem Small Stones produced in collaboration with Kaie Kellough and Jason Sharp
Triptych of stills selected from the video-poem Small Stones by Kaie Kellough (in collaboration with Kevin Yuen Kit Lo and Jason Sharp). Specially commissioned by the Listening, Sound, Agency symposium organized by SpokenWeb, Small Stones premiered
online in May 2021. Based on the poem “Alterity” by Kellough, this visual work is also a rhythmic assemblage of texts and images that layers, composes and repeats fragmentary elements to comment on the settling and continued colonization of parts of the Americas. It
attempts to play with the limits of legibility in order to move us towards things that cannot be read but felt, beyond the linear and hierarchical construction of colonial time.
